A little about me.

Hi, I'm Nathan — an American from Minnesota living on the Adriatic coast of Italy.

I've been teaching English on and off for most of my adult life, across two continents. I came back to it because I genuinely missed it — and because watching a student go from hesitant to confident is one of the best feelings I know.

Every student starts with a free placement test, and from there we build a plan around your goals, your level, and your pace.

Three ways to start your journey.

What students are saying.

"His teaching style is incredibly engaging and dynamic — making even complex parts of English feel simple and easy to understand. With his guidance I improved my pronunciation significantly, from a typical Asian accent to sounding much more natural and fluent. I highly recommend him — you definitely won't regret it."
Evan Sales associate · Taipei
"I contacted Nathan for business English lessons and had a great experience. He explains things calmly and precisely. I've also recommended him to my friends for their children — they've all been very happy with him."

Things students often ask.

How long is each lesson, and how often do we meet?

Most students do one or two 60-minute lessons a week. We can adjust to fit your schedule, and lessons can be online (Zoom or Google Meet) or in person depending on where you are.

What does a lesson actually look like?

Every lesson is built around you, but typically we start with a short warm-up conversation, work through one or two focused activities (grammar, vocabulary, a topic you want to discuss, or exam practice), and finish with a wrap-up. You may also get a small piece of homework between lessons — usually something fun, never busywork.

I'm a complete beginner. Is that a problem?

Not at all. I work with students at every level from absolute beginner (A1) to advanced (C2). Beginners actually tend to make the fastest progress because everything is new and exciting.

How much do lessons cost?

Pricing depends on the package and frequency. Get in touch and I'll send you the current rates — there's a discount for students who commit to a block of lessons.

Do you offer a free trial lesson?

The placement test is free, and after you take it I'll send back a personalised plan and we'll have a quick (free) chat to see if we're a good fit. There's no pressure to commit until you're sure.

What if I need to cancel a lesson?

Life happens. As long as you give me 24 hours' notice, we can reschedule with no charge. For cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, a fee equivalent to 30 minutes of class time is charged.
